Consultation
I provide single- and multi-session consultation to individuals 18+. I offer virtual sessions, as well as in-person in my Cambridge office.
About Consultation
Maybe you're not looking for therapy, but would benefit from talking with a professional about a particular topic or difficulty. Or, you're going through something and aren't sure yet what you need. Perhaps a loved one is suffering and you're seeking guidance on what to do or how to support them. Or, you are looking to talk to a professional about experiences you are having in psychotherapy, or have had in prior therapy. All of these are good reasons to seek consultation with a mental health professional.
When you consult with a therapist, you're not a patient. Consulting with a mental health provider can sometimes be a way to determine whether you wish to engage in therapy with that provider. Or, it can be its own form of support, never leading to therapy.
A consultation may be one session, or many. Similar to speaking with a lawyer or an accountant, you're engaging with a professional on matters related to their area of expertise. Through consultation, you may gain access to new ways of thinking about a situation, recommended resources, or connections to other professionals.
What I Offer
I offer general consultation as described above to anyone seeking to talk with a mental health provider. If you are wondering whether your concerns fall within my areas of practice, feel free to inquire.
I also offer consultation pertaining specifically to therapeutic harm.
I am happy to set up an initial (complimentary) phone call so that you can determine whether you wish to consult with me, and I can determine whether I have the expertise for what you're bringing.
Fees
Initial Phone Call (~20 min): Complimentary
Consultation Session Fee (55 min): $180
Please note: health insurance does not cover consultation.
Fee reduction may be available in cases of access need.
